Mark Charles (Navajo) for President
“I want to live in a country where ‘We the People’ actually means ‘All the People'”

Mark Charles  is a  member of the  Navajo nation. His father was a Navajo Indian, his mother was of Dutch ancestry. He is a writer, activist and motivational speaker. His lectures explore the complexities of American history, in particular the so-called “Doctrine of Discovery”. His focus is the intersection of history, race, culture and faith. He is a columnist and correspondent for Native News Online.  Before settling in Washington, D.C.,  Mr. Charles lived  with his wife and children for eleven years on the Navajo reservation, which covers territories located in Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. In July 2019, he announced his candidacy for the Presidency of the United State.

Mr. Mark Charles is urging Americans to reexamine their values and to engage in a meaningful dialogue with Native populations to find more sustainable, inclusive and creative solutions for the daunting problems facing the country, like climate change, immigration, education, growing income disparity and social discrimination. He has called for a “Truth and Conciliation Commission” to foster dialogue and understanding between native people, other people of color and white Americans. His campaign has attracted international attention.
